Full Journal pdf2007-05-09 Senate Journal Page 1145 SJR 4 SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 4 Urging the attorney general, the producers of natural gas in the Cook Inlet region, and the Regulatory Commission of Alaska to work to secure long-term and affordable supplies of natural gas for the people and businesses of the state, was read the second time. Senator Huggins, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the Resources Committee Substitute offered on page 1114. Senator Bunde objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no further objection, CS FOR SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 4(RES) Urging the United States Department of Energy to consider the needs of the people of the state for natural gas and the status of natural gas reserves in Cook Inlet when considering a possible extension of the Kenai Liquefied Natural Gas Plant's export license; and urging the producers of natural gas in the Cook Inlet region and the Regulatory Commission of Alaska to work to secure long-term and affordable supplies of natural gas for the people and businesses of the state, was adopted. Senator Stevens moved and asked unanimous consent that the resolution be considered engrossed, advanced to third reading and placed on final passage. Without objection, it was so ordered. CS FOR SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 4(RES) was read the third time. The question being: "Shall CS FOR SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 4(RES) Urging the United States Department of Energy to consider the needs of the people of the state for natural gas and the status of natural gas reserves in Cook Inlet when considering a 2007-05-09 Senate Journal Page 1146 possible extension of the Kenai Liquefied Natural Gas Plant's export license; and urging the producers of natural gas in the Cook Inlet region and the Regulatory Commission of Alaska to work to secure long-term and affordable supplies of natural gas for the people and businesses of the state, pass the Senate?" The roll was taken with the following result: CSSJR 4(RES) Third Reading - Final Passage YEAS: 19 NAYS: 1 EXCUSED: 0 ABSENT: 0 Yeas: Bunde, Cowdery, Davis, Dyson, Ellis, Elton, French, Green, Hoffman, Huggins, Kookesh, McGuire, Olson, Stevens, Therriault, Thomas, Wagoner, Wielechowski, Wilken Nays: Stedman and so, CS FOR SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 4(RES) passed the Senate and was referred to the Secretary for engrossment.
